The Company
Esquires Coffee was born in British Columbia, Canada over thirty years ago, when two entrepreneurial business graduates started their mission to serve delicious coffee to their community.
Today, Esquires is growing fast and currently has nearly 80 stores in the UK. According to their website, Esquires Coffee shops have become part of their local community, opening their doors to anyone who wants to sit back and relax with a cup of something delicious and a bite to eat. They’re proud to have grown from one little shop into the globally recognised brand they are today – all while keeping the same values of great, ethical coffee that puts people and the planet at the heart of what they do!
The Project
Thanks to the franchisee scheme that Esquires operates, new cafes are opening all the time. Recent projects include new stores in Westerham, Buxton, and Camberley. Although all Esquires have an individual feel due to their location, there is a strong visual identity that runs through all of them.
The Esquires’ look is modern with a rustic edge. The newest openings have adopted open plan layouts that are flooded with natural light, and the use of weathered timber and plenty of greenery gives the coffee shops a bright and welcoming feel.
The stores all have a purposefully chosen mix of seating to create a laid-back, eclectic look. Commercial chairs in a combination of genuine and faux leather and in a variety of earth tones sit harmoniously with rustic wooden table tops and simple black bases. Some stores also have areas with sofas and lounge chairs to ramp up the comfort or utilise fixed seating to make the most of awkward spaces and provide versatile spaces for families and larger groups.
Our popular Ryeford Stacking Baby High Chair also makes an appearance in Esquire’s coffee shops; a chair that’s perfect for allowing younger customers sit to the table but can be stacked away neatly when not in use.

The Result
The new additions to the Esquires family look stylish and inviting. The stores are warm and welcoming with a naturally inspired colour palette and array of interesting textures. The industrially inspired Tavo, Duke, and Savanna chairs add a contemporary edge while the Aztec side chair and armchair offer classic comfort. The two styles sit together with ease thanks to the similarities of leather upholstery in warm, earthy shades.
The mixture of tables in various sizes as well as multiple seating options means that Esquires can cater for a wide range of guests. After all, a comfortable customer is more likely to stay a bit longer, order another coffee and be tempted by the delicious range of pastries!
The team at Esquires are justifiably delighted with the new stores. Opening a hospitality venue of any type is always a time-consuming and potentially complicated process, so knowing that they can rely on Eclipse Furniture to offer a great range of in-stock commercial furniture that is delivered and installed, fuss-free, by a dedicated in-house team means one less thing to worry about.
“Working with Eclipse Furniture has been a pleasure – their team is friendly and reliable, the service is excellent, and the furniture is always high quality. We’re very happy with the relationship.”
