Opened in July 2026, Sona is a contemporary Indian restaurant located at the world-class Celtic Manor Resort - a 5-star hotel, golf, spa, and business destination set across 2,000 acres of parkland in the Usk Valley, South Wales.
Looking to expand the resort’s culinary offerings, the Celtic Manor team set out to transform an existing cocktail bar into a high-end dining destination. To bring the vision to life, they partnered with Faisal Rahman, a restaurateur with over 20 years of experience in Asian cuisine - and the concept for Sona was born.
With a proven track record across The Celtic Collection, including projects at The Parkgate Hotel and St Brides Spa Hotel, Eclipse Furniture was the natural choice to supply design-led restaurant seating and tables for Sona.
Creating a Luxury Restaurant Interior
Restaurant owner Faisal Rahman set out to design a warm, inviting space rooted in understated luxury - a venue where contemporary aesthetic meets timeless Indian hospitality.
Taking its name from the South Asian word for gold, Sona embodies its namesake through an elegant interior that appeals to resort guests and local visitors alike. Delivering this required commercial furniture that created a seamless flow across three distinct areas: the bar, the waiting lounge, and the main dining room.
Restaurant Furniture Requirements
While the interior concept was spearheaded by Faisal, every specification had to align with the exacting standards of the 5-star Celtic Manor Resort.
The furniture for Sona had to balance multiple demands: contemporary design with a refined sense of luxury, combined with commercial durability and ergonomic comfort that invites guests to stay and enjoy the hospitality. To capture Sona’s distinct identity, the team were looking for pieces with clean lines, warm tones, and rich, tactile textures.
Quality was non-negotiable for the project, so Faisal visited the Eclipse showroom to discover the range in person. Having explored several other suppliers, he found that Eclipse offered the perfect balance of design and durability, making the final decision easy.
Restaurant Chairs, Bar Stools and Tables
Following a visit to the Eclipse showroom, the team specified seating from the Aztec range. Crafted with sturdy beech frames and upholstered in a rich cognac faux leather, Aztec offered the ideal blend of warmth and durability.
Aztec Side Chairs were selected for the main dining room, while matching Bar Stools elevated the bar counter. In the waiting lounge, Aztec Lounge Chairs and a matching Two-Seater Sofa were arranged around a low wooden coffee table to create a welcoming entrance.
For the dining tables, sleek black metal bases were paired with Omega black marble-effect laminate tops, finished with a subtle gold edge - a sophisticated design touch that delivers a sense of luxury while withstanding high-volume service.

The Finished Restaurant Interior
The completed restaurant furniture scheme creates a consistent look across Sona’s dining room, bar and waiting lounge. Sona’s stunning interior is elevated by the carefully specified furniture, earning praise from guests - particularly for the comfort of the Aztec Chairs.
Faisal was thoroughly impressed by both the quality of the furniture and the level of service provided, noting that delivery and installation were seamless, well-organised, and stress-free.
