Meet the craziest ice bars in Europe
An ice bar, believe it or not is an establishment made primarily of ice, including the bar, walls and seating. Somewhat different from the usual warm and comfortable bar and restaurant seating we’re usually accustomed to! These bars are usually kept at temperatures of -5 and below so as they don’t melt! Ice bars in Europe take chill to a whole new level with some fantastic ice sculptures, many of which are changed annually to ensure that the interior is fresh (literally) and different. In the following article, we will showcase some of the coolest ice bars in Europe!
Icebar by ICEHOTEL Stockholm
Located in Stockholm’s Nordic C Hotel, the Icebar by ICEHOTEL was the first icebar to open in the world. It’s open all year round and is made from sculpted ice from the arctic Torne River, just like the glasses you drink from! You are served a cocktail on arrival, where you are helped into a warm coat and thick gloves. You can also eat here and attend events or even partake in ice-sculpting activities.
You are greeted with cool, crisp air, a beautiful and unique interior, part-gallery, and part-bar. This is not just a drink at a bar in central Stockholm – it’s a slice of northern Sweden’s polar magic and totally unique experience.
Situated on Heddon Street, the stylish locale made of crystal clear river ice from Sweden changes its appearance once a year, courtesy of a team of skilled ice designers and sculptors. During their 40-minute experience inside the ice bar, visitors are provided with designer capes and gloves to keep them warm while enjoying delicious cocktails. A gift shop and a lovely restaurant serving modern British cuisine are also on-site.
This bar is part of the Karlovy Lazne musical club, the most visited and largest nightclub in central Europe. You can enjoy vodka cocktails while taking in your magical surroundings.
Icebar Xtracold, Amsterdam
With its creative icy interiors, colourful LED-lighting, and unique 4D Ice Xperience, Amsterdam’s Xtracold Icebar is an experience not to be missed. Every 6 months, the décor and beautiful ice art on display are redesigned to create a completely new experience. Next door to the ice bar, you’ll find a nice lounge where you can warm up with music and cocktails.
Ice Kube bar, Paris
Built inside the Kube Hotel, the room is an extremely chilly -18 degrees and consists of 20 tons of ice and interiors by Michael Amann, the world champion in ice carving.
The experience lasts only 25 minutes and includes everything from ice artwork and cutting-edge lighting, vodka based drinks and fantastic music.
Ice Club Rome
This is the one and only icebar in Italy and can be found in the heart of Rome near the colosseum so the perfect spot to cool off after taking in the sights of the capital. Sculptures are changed every so often to keep guests entertained and vodka is the icebar’s main liquor. Everything in the bar is made of pure ice from England and the temperature is maintained at -5º C. Guests are welcomed with scrumptious vodka-based cocktails, plush white furs, and synchronized sounds and lights.
Icebarcelona gives guests the best of both worlds and is truly a one-of-a-kind experience. Located along the Mediterranean shore, Icebarcelona is the first ever icebar by the beach, plunging guests into cold icy interiors after basking in the hot Mediterranean sun. Designed by famous ice artists, the striking lounge boasts mesmerizing interiors as well as a sleek outdoor terrace where you can bask in the sun on some more comfortable restaurant seating and enjoy the warm sea breeze whilst sipping your favourite concoction. The icebar is also open to children, who seem to enjoy the experience more than the adults.
Whether you’re looking to level up your cocktails, interested in finding some unique pieces of art and sculpture, or finding ways to entertain your kids for an hour, these icebars in Europe will not disappoint. Unfortunately we can’t offer you contract furniture made from ice, however, we do have some fantastic indoor and outdoor items available, including bar and restaurant seating and tables.
